摘要: Optically addressable spin defects in solids such as diamond have broad applications in quantum sensing and quantum networking. The recent discovery of spin qubits in hexagonal boron nitride (hBN), a van der Waals (vdW) layered material, provides new opportunities for these applications. Thanks to its layered structure, hBN can be easily exfoliated and integrated with other materials and nanostructures. Spin qubits in hBN nanosheets will be particularly suitable for probing two-dimensional (2D) quantum materials at atomic and nanoscales. In this talk, I will talk about high-contrast plasmon-enhanced spin defects in hBN, and I will show our investigation on their excited-state spin resonance. I will also talk about optical polarization and coherent control of nuclear spins by using spin defects in hBN. |
简历: Xingyu Gao, a PhD student at Purdue University, supervised by Professor Tongcang Li. Xingyu Gao got his B.Sc in Physics at USTC where he worked in Professor Jiangfeng Du’s group to study diamond NV center for magnetic sensing. His current research interests focus on spin qubits in two dimensional materials, specifically in hexagonal boron nitride (hBN). He is also interested in quantum vacuum fluctuations (Casimir physics) and levitated optomechanics. |
