Centre for Quantum Physics was established in 2020, relying on Beijing Institute of Technology, facing the international academic frontier and national strategic needs, aiming at the design and application of quantum functional materials, providing extreme experimental conditions such as ultra-high voltage, strong magnetic field, extremely low temperature, ultra-vacuum and ultra-fast time resolution. It is committed to exploring new quantum functional materials and their novel physical properties, developing a new generation of components, and providing new ideas and original technologies for the development of frontier fields such as materials, optoelectronics, microelectronics, information and space technology.

The center has 16 national-level talents, 46 scientific researchers with senior titles, 8 postdoctoral fellows, 43 doctoral students and 37 master students. With a total area of about 1200 square metres, the center has more than 30 sets of high-end instruments and equipment, such as scanning tunneling microscope, dilution refrigerator, femtosecond light source, low-temperature vector magnet, large-cavity high-voltage synthesizer, high-voltage electrical and magnetic measurement system and high-voltage X-ray diffractometer, with a total asset value of about 80 million RMB. Relying on these equipment, 24 top-level papers have been published in Nature, Nature Materials, Nature Electronics and PRL in recent three years, and 70 million RMB of various projects have been approved.
